Web Spam @ reddit: Down-voting and Fake URL Submissions

reddit today has a story about the problem of spam bots down-voting articles. further, apparently they suffer from a significant amount of fake-url submissions which are, well… spam.

we who deal with comment spam, referrer spam and other types of web spam feel their pain, and i hope they will find a solution to help mitigate this soon.

you can find the story here. if i manage to find someone there we will try and bring them into our web spam fighting community and provide them with help from our joint cumulative experience.

  2. Anyone looked at their subscription process? I just did. No wonder it’s easy for bots to spam them. Not only do they not pose any challange, they invite them in.

    There is functionality, there is over-doing it and there is opening your legs and inviting them in.
